Bag 0: Quick-Release Buckle
Not really a bag-- when I got the sewing machine in I wanted to try it out by sewing something simple involving multiple layers of thick fabric, so I spliced a buckle into the strap on my existing bag.
I'd always liked the look and concept of the Chrome Bags quick-release seatbelt buckle, but I've heard from several friends that it suffers from "magpie factor" (that is, people come up at parties and press it while you're wearing the bag, causing the bag and contents to crash to the ground).
So I spent some time looking at other kinds of quick-release fasteners, and found some slick-looking buckles used in paragliding and parachuting. It's a one hand release, but hard to do accidentally and takes some practice.
